CIBODAS BOTANICAL GARDENS

I. What are we doing there?

The Cibodas botanical gardens is a recreational park located in Cibodas, Puncak. This park holds quite a wide variety of plants from different species. This park is one of puncak's primary recreational locations, and is also considered as one of the crucial factors of puncak's economical growth. On the 11th of february 2016, ninth graders of our school went there for research purposes, in which it had a major relationship with the unit we are studying in school, achievement. We went there to find out about the opinions the local had regarding achievement, particularly, the relationship between achievement and the park itself. Before the d-day, we were divided into teams, and we were tasked to create questions regarding achievement and it's subjectivity. We interviewed several individuals regarding the topic, and we surprisingly had a wide variety of answers.

II. Result of the interview

In the d-day, we asked several individuals about some questions we made. Below are the questions and the answers.

Name: Rahmad

Position: Snack merchant & Staff at the medicinal plants research compound

Answers:

1. Something that comes from our effort and hard work, in any form, and anything that we gained that we can be proud of.

2. It is an achievement. Before the park exists, puncak is not like this, the existence of this park have improved puncak’s economy.

3. He can have a profession that supports his economy there.

4. He doesn’t have steady income.

5. He can improve learning about nature, especially medicinal plants and herbs, because beside working as a snack merchant, he also works in the medicinal plants development.

6. Individual achievement is something that the benefits only we can feel, national achievement is something that is useful for our nation and achieved by either a nation or even individual, and global achievement is achievement that is beneficial for everyone living in the world.

The results was very contrary one to another, we were surprised that we received quite an intelligent answer from a snack merchant who also happen to be working in a medicinal plant development compound. But we were also surprised that an individual still does not understand the concept of achievement, which is a little bit sad, because it reflects the fact that quite a vast majority of the people in our nation is still uneducated, and they do not understand the principles of such a simple thing as achievement.

The cottages located in the southeastern part of the gardens which shows the contrasty of nature and man made objects.
